Sometimes all you need is a long walk on a unseasonably warm winter's day.
There are berries and buds--premature, sure, but pretty nonetheless.
Skeleton trees and sunbeams to warm your cheeks.
A necessary pause to appreciate the stillness and savor a hot drink.
And acknowledgement of the simple comfort found in your everyday surroundings.
Hoping I carve out the time to do it again this weekend.
As always, thanks for reading.
I find it super inspiring when I can just wander with no pressures. Hope you had fun =)

This sounds beautiful–I need to find some time for this this weekend. xox
ReplyDeleteThe simple comforts are so important to me as well. Today I took a walk across the open green space near my apartment and it felt so peaceful, calm and comforting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful little walk! I've been meaning to walk a bit more in my neighborhood before I move in a few months. I'll miss all those comforting little things in my own backyard.
ReplyDeleteAs always, love your self portraits! Gorgeous girl!

ReplyDeleteDelurking to say that your photographs are gorgeous! I love how you notice the beauty of the everyday
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for de-lurking Christen, and for the compliment!
DeleteKayla-- I've loved your blog for such a while now and have always admired your astute and graceful perspective on life. Thanks for sharing little pieces of your world with us all! I also had to comment today because I'm almost positive these pictures were taken in/around the town that I grew up in. Any chance Van Neste Square rings a bell? Something tells me this might be another one of those small world stories for me to add to my list.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz! Yes indeed! I currently live in Ridgewood with my husband, although we're probably moving back into the city at the end of the summer. I have a very special place in my heart for this town; such a lovely, charming place.
DeleteLong walks are the best, aren't they? hope you've had a lovely weekend. and I just wanted to say (in reply to your comment) that I hope you make it to seattle one of these days... and we will have a wonderful lunch together! :)
