Scenes From The Weekend
It was a weekend of work catch-up and subsequent frequent refills of my teapot (or french press, depending on the time of day). We treated ourselves to Saturday morning brunch at the Country Pancake House (the type of place where your meal begins with a cup of velvety hot cocoa and chocolate-chip cornbread slathered in salty, creamy butter). The eggs benedict-florentine, hash browns and pancakes were round two & three.
While we're on the subject of food, a necessary reminder from one of the greats:
"The measure of achievement is not winning awards. It's doing something you appreciate, something you believe is worthwhile. I think of my strawberry soufflé. I did that at least twenty-eight times before I finally conquered it." -Julia Child
