I'm attempting to shake up my routine by showering at night in order to carve out an extra fifteen minutes in the morning so I can drink my coffee in my living room instead of on the train. Or style my hair. Or watch the news. Or press the snooze button. Man, I really love the snooze button.
(1948 illustration above by American artist John Gannam. A few more below, because they're cheery and fun).
I just love your blog! :D
ReplyDeleteI find it joyful and nice and full of positive vibes! I guess you must be that way also! And it's really nice seeing that kind of people these days! :D have a nice week! :D
Ha! I've been doing the exact same thing in the winter (showering at night) because when it's cold, I tend to spend a lot more time in the hot shower. I would LOVE to have time in the morning to play with my kitty or for a small breakfast at home. When my sister visited from Bulgaria, she always woke up earlier to prepare something, so we don't have to drink our coffee on an empty stomach or spill it on the train. I wish I had more self-discipline but man, I love my cozy warm bed!
ReplyDeletemy morning routine is constantly changing. some mornings i'm up by 6am, other mornings i sleep in till 9 because i was working until midnight the night before. it's a crazy schedule, but on the days i'm not rushing off to a morning meeting, i'll slowly sip my tea while listening to good music and read or write. those are my favorite mornings.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a nighttime showerer so I can have more time in the mornings! Last night we crashed by 10, snozzed and snuggled until 7:30, cleaned house, had tea and scones and were out by 8:30-the best morning we've had in a while!
ReplyDeleteI only work part time right now so I get to sleep in on Thursdays and Fridays and drink coffee and blog. It's pretty marvelous. But M-W I wake up at 7:30 and get ready and go. It's no fun those days.
ReplyDeleteOf course I love that illustration..figures...I love all things from 1948! I'm usually up by 7 (ish), and take my time in the mornings...working from home is bliss, but takes discipline. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to rediscover my weekday routine. What I need to do is get some time in the mornings in for exercising, but I'm still trying to adjust to commuting and just getting up so darn early again.
ReplyDeleteI'm in in the tech field, which has always been more flexible in terms of hours. We got into the office around 10:45am at my last job, so mornings were really lazy :-) All my friends were jealous!
ReplyDeleteOmgsh I so agree about leisurely mornings!!! That's why I want to own my own business & set my own hours. I am so much more productive later in the day! Happy almost Saturday, friend. xo
ReplyDeleteHa I wish - imagine the luxury of staying in bed until 8am - that's when I'm out the door! Love the John Gannam paintings - so much fun.
