These Moments

My heart bursts into what feels like a thousand pieces of confetti when I bear witness to such moments. I scrambled for my camera in order to capture it a few weeks ago. (Two of my students on a walking trip to Central Park).

I am having trouble accepting the fact that only eight weeks remain in the school year. I don't know how I'm going to say goodbye this time around.

This clip: unrelated but completely winsome.

  1. Oh my gosh, that is the sweetest photo ever! So glad you were able to grab that camera. I am seriously impressed by their little coats by the way, your kids must be tiny fashionistas! =)

And I have to say as a little kid I used to hate the last day of school and having to say goodbye to my teacher. More than once I cried my little eyes out. I'm totally sure your kids feel the same way about you =) Hope your last day will be tear free, I can't imagine how tough it must be to spend every day with these little munchkins and then have to let them go.

  2. Honestly, I'm not too worried about saying goodbye to the schoolwork. It's the people. How am I supposed to leave my friends and move back to a whole other coast on my own? I'm really happy that I have people like you waiting for me in NYC. That makes things a bit easier.

  6. I love when a moment like that comes along, and I actually have my camera with me to capture it!

It is always hard to say good-bye to the kids. The year I taught kindergarten, I was a weepy mess!

  15. That photo is so precious! And it's so much more meaningful since you know the kids. Will you be giving a copy to their parents? It's the kind of photo that someone can look back on years from now with a smile on their face...
