New On My Desk
Ta-da! Personally introducing you to Kelley, my recently acquired Michelle Armas painting and new favorite thing in the house. I wasn't sure where I was going to hang her, but once I saw her in person, I knew she needed to be the focal point of my workspace in the living room. I relocated my gold globe to complete the vignette.
I smile every time I enter the room. Which is approximately 8,946,023 times each day.
Reiterating the moral of this whole story?
Buy original art. Do it. It's worth it.
Because it will make you happy.
And that's reason enough.

I second that advice! We started collecting (small) pieces a few years ago...slowly but surely we are building a collection.
ReplyDeleteIt's so colorful and I'm sure it would make anyone smile! I can't wait to have my own place to decorate in original artwork!
ReplyDeleteLucky, lucky girl! It's so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous. I agree with you completely: nothing is better than original art (especially if it makes you smile).
ReplyDeleteMy eyes were drawn to the painting immediately. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteShe looks fabulous on your desk!! So glad you are still madly in love with Kelley =)
ReplyDeleteFabulous. And how inspiring to have it right there where you work!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful piece, and you've found the most perfect place for it!
ReplyDeleteJohn and I recently hung a large piece that lives over our bed (a 5x5 canvas that my parents are "loaning" from their "collection"), and our bedroom didn't feel like ours until it was up!
So lovely! I am looking at my extremely messy, non-art-adorned desk right now. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't stop smiling when I saw the photographs, then I read your post and I smiled some more.
ReplyDeleteThat's just from seeing it on the Internet. I can only imagine how giddy it makes you when you walk into that room. Great choice!
yay! i love original art. i remember my very first art purchase was such a ridiculously exciting event. i felt like i was finally an adult! plus, you get to support a real person {as opposed to mass produced goods}, and for someone with a lot of artist friends, that means a lot to me. congrats on your gorgeous piece!

ReplyDeleteLOVE! I definitely agree in the power of surrounding yourself in art, Sadly because canvases don't fit so well into a suitcase I had to leave most of mine back in California for right now, but in place I photographed some of my best girlfriend's amazing paintings and framed my pictures ;) the next best thing.
ReplyDeletep.s. i love your desk!
It looks so bright and cheery there! I love your little gold globe too.
