Scenes From The Weekend
Buying a superman shirt has substantially improved my life. I'm not even exaggerating: I wore it over the weekend and was stopped by no less than ten different people. One of the farmers at the farmer's market commented to Tiho that he "wished he had a superwoman of his own just like yours" (awkward but sweet), and three different kids I passed on the sidewalk pointed and proclaimed to their respective grown-up, "Look! That lady is superman!"
I'm telling you, it's amazing (and such a day brightener to make other people smile). Plus, this thing is super soft and cozy. I never want to take it off.
Our weekend was relaxing and pleasure-filled. We played a game of tennis, caught up on Parenthood episodes, cleaned and restocked the fridge with yumminess, indulged a long breakfast outside at a sidewalk café on Saturday morning, and did plenty of requisite lounging.
I've been flinging the windows wide open and sipping hot cocoa to temper the chill in the air. The light is changing. I'm dreaming about apples and pears and butternut squash. The football fans have invaded my commuter train and I don't even mind one bit because their enthusiasm is infectious.
Fall, you are lovely.

Pastries, roses,balloons....I love it! Way to rock the superman shirt too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Victoria! It's easily my new favorite item of clothing and I refuse to take it off :-)
DeleteAdorable! Typical couple with no kids routine: farmers market, long brunches, tv episode marathons and of course lots of lounging. I know it all too well. ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes! The days are numbered though, so we're soaking it up (and no, I'm not pregnant yet, just thinking about it in the not so distant future).
DeleteLilya is so right! I miss those days... {not that these days aren't fun, they're just different... and there is way less lounging!}
DeleteFound myself out in your neck of the woods with a friend this weekend for a (not so) quick stop over at the Country Pancake House-- had a funny feeling I might serendipitously bump into you, but no such luck :) Looks like you had a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteAw, I wish serendipity would have happened! When were you there? We actually walked by a couple of times on Saturday morning on the way to and from brunch.
DeleteYou are so cute. Seriously love lazy weekends and I think we should enjoy these child-less years to the fullest!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove every pic as usual, Kayla! That Superman sweater - swoon! But yes, you look way better in it than me, myself and I:-)
ReplyDeleteHaha Igor, I'm sure you'd give me a run for my money :-)
DeleteThis post is lovely, and so are those heavenly looking pastries! So tickled that Superman is bringing such joy into your weekends!
ReplyDeleteOh I totally know what you mean regarding the superman shirt. I bought one some years back and every time I wear it I get all sorts of comments, pointing, and smiles. It is truly life changing and makes you feel like a real superhero ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend. I don't have a superman t shirt but I do have a shiny gold jumper that gets joyful reactions
