Scenes From The Weekend
We spent significant time in the car on Saturday, driving to Rhode Island and back again to help my mom look at apartments after her recent job offer in Providence. Amidst the stress and emotion of the day, we stopped to watch the boats and the swans in what is essentially her new front yard: perspective is a funny thing.
On the drive home, we reached the Tappan Zee bridge at sunset and witnessed the sky transform into a painting over the Hudson. I sometimes forget just how damn beautiful this world is.
Sunday was languid and delicious. We bought a bag of donuts along with our usual haul at the farmer's market and then lazily draped ourselves around the house for the remainder of the day.
Now, it's the start of what's shaping up to be a busy week, and I'm going to begin it with hot coffee, a bowl of fruit, and an egg sandwich. Not half bad.
