I woke up early both days to attend to chores, including a laundromat run, since our landlord is in the process of replacing our broken washing machine. I brought a book with me, but had the place to myself (Tiho went out to tackle other errands). I spent the time lost in my thoughts and entranced by the gentle, rhythmic whirring of the clothes going around and around. With my jumbo coffee and toasted bagel from the hole-in-the-wall joint next door, I was in my own reclusive little heaven. It was strangely delightful.
When T and I grew restless on Sunday, we went out seeking to fill our lungs with fresh air. We hiked in the reservation before treating ourselves to an early Thai dinner.
I'm very aware that the season is winding down and the hustle of fall is just around the corner. Thus, I'm trying my best to appreciate what's left in order to fully recommit in a few short weeks. (But mostly, I'm in denial).
P.S. Thank you all very much for your support of my portfolio and business launch. I am overwhelmed and touched. I also have another somethin' somethin' up my sleeve, and if all goes according to plan, will be unveiling it soon. Yay!
A cliffhanger...such a tease! ;)
ReplyDeleteUsually, I hate when people do that but I couldn't resist. Excited!
DeleteI am so in denial too! The middle of August always brings that out in me. Way to use your phone, do what needs doing, and enjoy yourself while you can.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done laundry in years (the wash and fold is just too convenient), but the way you write about the spin cycle, I'm ready to haul myself down there with a good book right this minute!
ReplyDeleteAnd when I bought a pair of loafers this weekend, it hit me that fall is barreling towards us, too.
Tiho sleeping - ahhhhhhhh!!
ReplyDeleteHa, I know. My handsome hubby makes me giddy, even when he's sleeping.
DeleteCute! I love taking stealthy pictures of my man sleeping too, with the kitty on top of him. He hates posing....
