This weekend, it was all about the burrowing. We experienced two big thunderstorms, both of which were appreciated. We watched the olympics and snacked on pizza and frozen grapes. On Saturday, I lounged in bed reading for the better part of the afternoon. I love our bed, especially when it provides me the opportunity to cozy up and listen to the pitter-patter of rain on the window.
After errands on Sunday morning, I baked a batch of peach muffins and went on a merciless cleaning spree. I wouldn't call myself a minimalist per se, but I certainly see the value in clean, empty, open space.

ReplyDeletegorgeous flowers
Thank you, Vickie! I couldn't believe it when my florist had a few peony stems left in the cooler. She said, "get 'em now, you won't see them again until next Spring!" So, I splurged :)
DeleteI swear, your photography gets better and better. We just moved into a new apartment so things were pretty manic but just about getting settled and enjoying the nesting that comes with a new place. The most exciting thing was buying an olive tree for our deck - sad, I know, but I've always wanted one so it felt special.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you for the compliment Will! I've been throwing myself into learning more and developing my photographic style, so that means a lot.
DeleteAlso, now you've got me itching to head to the nearest nursery and pick out a tree. That sounds special indeed.
love these photos, kayla! they all look so light & relaxing.
ReplyDeletehope your monday is off to a good start :)
thanks, rachel. our bedroom gets really pretty natural light, hence why it's one of my favorite places to pass the time..
DeleteThat first photo... Love.
ReplyDeleteI've been cleaning, too. This weekend was all about the kitchen cupboards. Man, there was a lot of crap in there!
Enjoy the week, Kayla! Can you believe we're heading into August now?
Erin, while walking through the supermarket yesterday, I put my hand up in front of me in the school supply aisle and loudly proclaimed "no, stop it." Tiho thought this was hilarious.
DeleteI love the empty space...
ReplyDeleteMe too, so much, especially lately.
DeleteWhenever I see your posts, Kayla, I feel like jumping up, grabbing my new camera and shooting pictures. In the vain hope to become as good as you one day...
