Scenes From The Weekend
We were out adventuring this weekend. First, on Saturday, after a visit to the nursing home to see my nana (another kind of adventure in itself). We spent a few hours in the town of Nyack, where we ate a burrito lunch, popped into a local chocolate shop, and strolled along the Hudson River shoreline. It was windy, but not quite enough to temper the sticky air.
On Sunday, we spent the day exploring in the New York Botanical Gardens with friends. It was fun to visit my old stomping grounds: I attended undergrad at Fordham University, just across the street. Despite the 100% humidity index, I immensely enjoyed myself and the time with the flowers and greenery. I'm still editing those photos, so what you're seeing is mostly from Saturday, along with a glimpse at my newest piece of art--an original fruit print from the 1930's. It seems appropriate, as fruit is about the only thing satiating me in this heat. Sunday night's rainstorm helped a little, but I still slept with one leg out and the air conditioner cranked up high. I find myself yearning for a forty degree temperature drop and the excuse to curl up inside all day and not feel a lick of guilt about it.
How was your weekend?

Your weekend sounds and looks great ( minus high heat and humidity of course)! I love that new print you pucked up. Are you going to share more pics? I hope so.
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was nice. I came home after a few days away on Sat. and enjoyed a lovely drive along some water and a pretty awesome storm during part of it. I spent the rest of the day relaxing with a fresh batch of sweet tea while the storm moved into my town. Sunday the heat had cooled so I enjoyed having the windows and doors open, a new candle I picked up last week and a great day st home. Reading, cooking, a game, chatting with my brother on the phone, a movie, and ice cream.
Victoria, I'll for sure share more photos from the Botanical Gardens later this week. Your weekend sounds lovely, especially your peaceful Sunday!
