I purchased a gold leather planner yesterday. I haven't used a paper calendar the past few years, but something feels different about 2014. I'm struck with the desire to physically put pen to paper (even if just for appointments and reminders).
I think, more than anything, I want to practice mindfulness. I want to stop making excuses about lack of time, and instead, figure out how to make the most of my time.
With that, I leave you with the wise words of William Arthur Ward.
Another fresh new year is here...
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest...
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!
Happy New Year! I'm with you--I bought a planner as well for the first time in YEARS...mindfulness is a very good reason.
