Valente Family (Again!)

Hands down, one of the greatest joys since starting my own business is becoming acquainted with awesome clients. The Valente family first reached out in the fall when my business was still in infancy: their shoot was relaxed and fun and used for their holiday card. When Jill emailed me again in the late spring to tell me her twin boys were turning one, we scheduled another casual family session in their home to commemorate the occasion.

I love this type of shoot. It's amazing to see how kids change over the course of half a year and having the chance to reconnect with a family is always such a treat. With a year of "official shooting" under my belt, the number one thing I've learned so far is the value of repeat clients and word-of-mouth referrals. There's no greater compliment than being asked back again and again to photograph a family.

Here's how the shoot (more or less) unfolded...

Some time inside for informal portraits and a whole lot of playing and rolling around on the floor.

...Before heading outside and spending the rest of the afternoon in the backyard. It was early summer and perfect weather.

As you can see, they have a fantastic wooden swing set and playhouse.

...Where a spontaneous yoga session makes perfect sense (obviously).

The boys practiced their fetch skills while going through the tunnel:

In the end, there's nothing like a quality ride on top of dad's shoulders...
