The Language of the Lake

We spent Friday through Sunday in a rustic cabin on Lake George in upstate New York where Tiho served as a groomsman in the casual afternoon wedding of his former roommate. On the eve before the festivities, he went out for a drink with the groom and other attendants while I walked out to the docks with my camera for a lesson in solitude.

The reflection of the cabin lights on the water looked like glittering confetti. I felt tempted to scoop it up and put it in my pocket for safekeeping.

  1. That looks like a perfect place to spend a Friday evening. There's something about lakes, particularly at night, that's always so calming, don't you think? Happy Monday, my dear!

  5. Beautiful. Number three is so relaxing to look at, I can almost hear the water lapping against the shore.

  9. Oh my, my, my. I would like to visit this magical little place. While I live in a place with many lakes, I haven't gotten to visit one in WAY too long. But this is almost as good as seeing one live and in person. :)

  10. @Erin & Susan, yes first official day is tomorrow, though this week is still set up/meetings/individual family visits. I'll have my class of kiddos next week!
