This is our new apartment located in the adorable coastal town of Larchmont, NY. We're about a fifteen minute car drive from Manhattan and a twenty-five minute express train ride from Grand Central Station, which means my commute is now my best friend.
It's a light-drenched, fourth floor unit in a lovely and well-maintained elevator building. The apartment has south facing views, honey-colored wood floors throughout, and the most charming details in every room. We're walking distance to the town center filled with quaint boutiques and cafés, as well as the train station and the beach (in the opposite direction).
We are downsizing in space, but upgrading in quality. The process to obtain this place was intensive and not without stress, but now that it's ours, we couldn't be more thrilled! I owe a huge thanks to our real estate broker who is a complete gem, and all of my friends and colleagues who wrote such nice recommendations for us: we needed eight(!) to submit with the application.
I cannot wait to settle in and unpack over the next couple of weeks. We seriously purged our belongings and only brought what we loved due to space constraints. We purchased a handful of new pieces and will be adding a few more over the next several months once we live in the space for awhile.
Anyway, just wanted to share a peek with you. I took these photos with my phone last Saturday when we received our keys. For now, I'm excited to fill the rooms with jars and jars of flowers. Priorities.
looks like a wonderful place, have fun setting it up & I'm looking forward to seeing some of what you do :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Kayla, the place and town sound lovely. If my life had not turned upside down recently, I would have been in the same stage of life but, oh well, one day! Contrary to most people, I don't mind moving that much. For me it means purging, blank canvass to work with, new town to explore and hopefully new friends to make. Keep us posted:)
