There are so many small daily sensations that have the power to knock the wind out of me when I stop to consider them: the mid-morning light illuminating a stack of cookbooks on our kitchen table, the cold smoothness of two eggs in my hand, the vibrant color of a perfectly ripe blood orange.
Sometimes, I feel self-conscious about the dreamy way I'm inclined to view things, but it's who I've always been and how I've always seen the world, and I wouldn't trade that sense of self for anything.
Never change!! See you tonight sista!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore the simplicity of your photos. They always remind me how much beauty exists in my immediate environment and that while traveling and discovering exotic places is great, I can shift what I see and how I see it even at home.
ReplyDeleteThis morning I was totally floored by the reflection of my tea kettle on the kitchen counter; it stunned me that something completely un-composed was as breathtaking to me as a painting in a museum, but I think that's what all art aspires to achieve.
ReplyDeleteI love slowing down and LOOKING at things as if they are to be enjoyed. As if they are more than just things. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your eating area...It is so simple and so clean. It makes whatever you put there beautiful.
Keep looking! Keep sharing! You're not as alone as you think you are.
Oh, this is such an inspiring post! The first picture of the cookbook stack is absolutely eye-catching!
ReplyDeletethe colours in the last photo are stunning
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images. That first shot is my fav!
ReplyDeleteLovely...I want to bottle up the softness of that first image.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you. I find little vistas of beauty around the house are so uplifting. I listened to an author describe how she appreciated the beautiful things in life and she said it so much better than I can but to me it is so, so important.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have just come to your blog via The SoHo and it is fresh and lovely - another little thing of beauty.
