I would take it over to your house
and pour it loose through your garden
So the hinges on your windows would rust and color
Like the boats pulled up on the sand for summer
and your sweet clean clothes would go stiff on the line
and there'd be sand in your pockets
and nothing on your mind."

Photos from our Caribbean vacation a few years ago. I'm wistfully reminiscing (and peeking at last minute, all-inclusive travel deals...).

lovely shots!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem.
ReplyDeleteI miss my Caribbean cruise so much too! Wish I could go again but there are so many other places and things to see! Flipping through the pictures makes me smile and I imagine telling my children 10 years from now where we went!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's always fun to relive a trip. I wish we could swing a yearly Caribbean vacation...so relaxing.
DeleteSigh–yes, please.
ReplyDeleteWhat a trip!
ReplyDeleteI love this poem...
ReplyDeletedon't those lines just sound like summertime? funny enough, I'm actually not as crazy for the song itself ... but the words themselves are so poetic.
ReplyDeleteSam, I agree! I like the song just okay, but think the lyrics are incredible. I first heard it as a passenger in a friend's car and immediately looked it up upon arriving home (so hard to decipher in the song--he sings so fast.
